What is right to information

The Right to Information and Information Privacy legislation aims to make more information publicly available and provide equal access to information across all sectors of the community, while protecting individuals’ right to privacy.

Under the Right to Information Act 2009, Queensland Urban Utilities provides the community with access to information it holds, unless doing so would be contrary to the public interest. This is in line with the Queensland Government's approach to giving the community greater access to public information.

Under the Information Privacy Act 2009, Queensland Urban Utilities protects personal information it receives from individuals, including customers.
