What is right to information

Right to Information is the Queensland Government's approach to giving the community greater access to public information.

As a statutory authority, Queensland Urban Utilities is committed to providing access to information it holds, unless doing so would be contrary to the public interest. New legislation replacing the Freedom of Information Act 1992 came into effect on 1 July 2009, namely the Right to Information Act 2009.

The Right to Information reforms aim to make more information publicly available and provide equal access to information across all sectors of the community, while protecting individuals’ right to privacy.

More detailed information about Right to Information can be found at the Queensland Government Right to Information website.
