Auchenflower Branch Sewer Upgrade Project
Project background
Queensland Urban Utilities is increasing the capacity of Auchenflower’s sewer system to reduce the risk of sewer overflows. This project is part of a record $3.2 billion 10-year capital works investment to support growth and maintain water and sewerage services.
Project update
The Auchenflower Branch Sewer Upgrade is nearing completion. Project contractors are completing the final works on sewer maintenance holes in Eagle Terrace, Lang Parade and Roy Street. Please see map below (attached?).

Eagle Terrace
Project contractors commenced excavation works in Eagle Terrace in early July, with an expected completion date of August 2012, weather permitting. Project work hours will be 7am – 5pm, Monday to Friday, with some weekend work required.
Following construction, connection to the new sewerage pipe will take place. Connection works will occur during the hours of 8pm and 6am. To ensure there are no disruptions to sewer services for customers in the area, a soundproof sewer bypass pump will soon be installed on the corner of Huxham Terrace and Eagle Terrace. Once installed, the pump will operate 24 hours a day for approximately one week, while the new sewer pipes are connected to the existing system. Minor noise and vibration is anticipated during this time. The project team will also establish sound barriers to ensure any noise is minimal.
Lang Parade and Roy Street
Project contractors will commence sewer relining in Lang Parade and Roy Street in mid July, with an expected completion date of August 2012, weather permitting. Project work hours will be 7am – 5pm, Monday to Friday. There will be minor traffic disruptions, with temporary road closures while project works takes place.
