Ian Maynard
Chief Executive Officer
Ian Maynard was appointed as Chief Executive Officer of Queensland Urban Utilities on July 1, 2011.
His leadership role is ensuring Queensland Urban Utilities builds on its successful first 12 months of operation, and consolidates its position as South East Queensland’s market leader in delivering high quality water and sewerage services to customers and communities in the company’s five service regions.
Ian grew up on Brisbane’s Bayside and graduated with first class honours in science (organic chemistry) from University of Queensland. His career includes executive positions with the Fonterra Group, Fletcher Challenge and Ampol in roles including research and development, operations and procurement, risk management and insurance.
He came to Queensland Urban Utilities from the Brisbane City Council where he served as Acting Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer, Executive Manager of Strategic Procurement and Divisional Manager for the Corporate Services.
Louise Dudley
Chief Financial Officer, Finance, Risk and Procurement
Louise is responsible for the core financial operations, providing strategic advice to the Chief Executive Officer and the Executive Management Team.
Prior to this appointment, Louise was Executive Manager of Brisbane City Council's Water Retail business unit.
Louise has held several senior executive roles within Brisbane City Council, including Director, Finance and Legal Water Transition Program, Chief Procurement Officer and Commercial Manager Information, Communication and Technology Division.
Prior to joining Council, Louise’s experience included 17 years with leading accounting and advisory firm KPMG, and senior roles with PresCare. Louise is a Chartered Accountant, has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Queensland, a Certificate of Superannuation Management from Macquarie University, and is a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Helen Harding
Executive Director Retail
As Executive Director Retail, Helen is responsible for leading and managing the Queensland Urban Utilities Retail business. This includes management of customer services, billing and collections, demand management, marketing communications and media management. In addition, Helen works with other members of the executive team in the future direction and leadership of Queensland Urban Utilities.
Prior to joining Queensland Urban Utilities, Helen had a 12 year career in the energy retail industry, during which she held positions of Acting General Manager, Retail for Babcock and Brown Power and Senior Manager for Energex Retail Pty Ltd in a range of retail management and marketing roles including Group Manager, Homesuite (energy related product and services), Manager Strategic initiatives and Manager – Full Retail Contestability. Helen brings extensive retail experience to the role, in both competitive and non-competitive environments.
Helen’s qualifications include a Masters of Business, Bachelor of Physical Education and Diploma of Company Directorship.
Jennifer Leis
Executive Director, People and Safety
As Executive Director, Jenny is responsible for leading the provision of a range of functions including people and safety.
Jenny began her career within the water and sewerage industry when she joined Brisbane Water in 1998. She is an experienced and successful business management professional who has operated at Senior Executive level, with an extensive history of strong leadership and effective management of multi-functional teams.
Throughout her career, Jenny has developed, coordinated and implemented business improvement strategies, led integration and change management efforts, increased operational capability, utilised her strong financial management skills and continuously delivered customer focussed outcomes.
Most recently, Jenny led and managed Queensland Urban Utilities (Brisbane) Corporate Services and the Program Connect Corporate Services Portfolio.
Nina Meyers
Chief Information and Technology Officer
As Queensland Urban Utilities’ Chief Information and Technology Officer, Nina is responsible for managing all aspects of the organisation’s information and communication technology environment. She will also lead Queensland Urban Utilities’ ICT technical separation from Brisbane City Council, including the significant transformation to the organisation’s core systems by 30 June 2013.
Nina joined Queensland Urban Utilities from Allconnex Water, where she was responsible for establishing an information and communications technology (ICT) capability in a ‘greenfields’ environment.
Her previous ICT experience has been gained with organisations including the Gold Coast City Council, the Queensland Department of Emergency Services, Queensland University of Technology (QUT) and the Queensland Police Service.
Nina has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from QUT and a Bachelor of Informatics (Computing and Information Technology) from Griffith University. She is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD) and a Member of the Australian Institute of Management (AFAIM).
Robin Lewis
Chief Operating Officer
As Chief Operating Officer, Robin Lewis is responsible for leading all operational aspects of Queensland Urban Utilities including water and wastewater services, water quality, maintenance, asset planning and capital works program delivery.
Robin has assembled an impressive array of highlights across a thirty year career in water and wastewater treatment. He commenced his career with Severn Trent Water Limited, England in 1974 working in a variety of maintenance operations and supervisor roles in wastewater treatment plants. From 1988 to 1991 he was responsible for management of mechanical and electrical asset maintenance of 40 wastewater treatment plants. In 1991, Robin was appointed as Manager Wastewater Treatment of the Stratford on Avon Wastewater Treatment Plant and in 1995 was promoted to the role of Works Treatment Manager based in Finham, Coventry.
In 1999 Robin moved from England to take up the role of Wastewater Manager of Watercare Services Limited, based in New Zealand, where he was responsible for managing wastewater treatment for Auckland City, playing a key role as technical advisor on the implementation of a joint venture wastewater treatment upgrade project.
Robin joined Brisbane City Council in 2002 as General Manager Production for Brisbane Water, where he was responsible for process engineering, water treatment operations, wastewater treatment operations, trade waste and source control, and laboratory services. In 2008 he was appointed to the role of Executive Manager, Brisbane Water Distribution leading and managing Brisbane City Council’s Water Distribution with a workforce of 750 people, to deliver water distribution, wastewater collection and wastewater treatment services for over one million customers.
Robin has a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering, Diploma in Water Industry Operations & Management, and Diploma in Sewerage Treatment Processes & Pollution Control. Robin is a Chartered Water and Environmental Engineer.
Tracey Moore
General Counsel/Board Secretary
As the General Counsel/Board Secretary Tracey is responsible for the provision of both legal advice to the organisation and for providing governance and secretarial assistance to the Board.
Tracey has significant experience in infrastructure delivery, including the major approvals process and procurement and is an experienced probity advisor
Immediately prior to this appointment, Tracey was a partner in the Infrastructure, Energy and Government Division of McCullough Robertson Lawyers where she was the leader of water and electricity practice groups.
Tracey has a strong interest in both urban and rural water resource policy and management including sustainability. Tracey has 25 years experience in both private and public sector legal practices. She has provided legal advice to the Defence Materiel Organisation, Health Services Australia, Department of Health and Aged Care and the then Department of Finance and Regulation.
Tracey is a member of the Queensland Law Society, Australian Corporate Lawyers Association and the Australian Water Association. In her spare time, Tracey has also held a number of board positions within the not for profit sector particularly in the areas of non-profit health service provision and the performing arts.
Paul Belz
General Manager, Planning
Reporting to COO Robin Lewis, as General Manager Paul oversees planning, capital inauguration, environmental and water quality issues across the Queensland Urban Utilities service area, involving approximately $4.4 billion worth of assets. Paul is also responsible for key regulator relationships and has established Queensland Urban Utilities' inaugural Water Netserv Plan and is currently establishing the Queensland Urban Utilities Design Code.
Paul has over twenty years experience in the water and sewerage industry across a wide spectrum of disciplines. His main area of expertise is in the area of planning, asset management and the associated areas of strategic planning, demand management, and asset optimisation. Paul has had extensive experience in the operation, maintenance and construction of water and sewerage assets.
Paul was a key member of the team that established Queensland Urban Utilities and inputting into the SEQ Water arrangements. Paul has been a member of a number of SEQ and national committees for the planning and asset management of water and sewerage systems. Paul is currently the Queensland representative on the WSAA Environment Committee. Paul has presented papers both in Australia and in the United States.
Paul holds a Bachelor of Engineering, Graduate Diploma of Management and a Master of Business Administration. He is Registered Professional Engineer Queensland and is also a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Mark Letica
Executive Manager
Mark provides strategic direction and leadership for the Office of the Chief Executive Officer. Mark leads the corporate planning and business performance reporting functions. Mark is also responsible for ensuring sound enterprise level governance frameworks are in place and overseeing the internal audit and corporate property functions.
Mark has worked in both State and Local Governments as well as in the financial services sector and was one of the founding members of the Council of Mayors (SEQ) water reform program which was responsible for implementing the institutional water reform arrangements in South-East Queensland. Following this term, Mark was appointed as Program Manager, Program Connect, with the objective of establishing a local government owned utility through the merger of the water/sewerage/retail businesses of Brisbane City, Ipswich City, Lockyer Valley, Scenic Rim and Somerset Regional Councils. This represented the largest ever water transaction in Australian history and was the second largest ever utilities transaction in Australian history.
