Classes of recycled water
Class A
This is the highest quality of recycled water supplied by Queensland Urban Utilities . A tertiary treatment process combined with pathogen removal is required to produce water of this quality.
Availability
Class A is available in Brisbane and in limited supply in Ipswich.
Uses
Recycled water of this quality has a wide range of uses including,:
- process/cooling water for industry,
- fire protection stores and reticulation systems,
- irrigation of municipal parks, sportsgrounds and food crops that are consumed raw or sold to consumers uncooked or processed.
Class B
A secondary treatment process, combined with pathogen reduction is used to produce water of this quality.
Availability
Class B water is currently available from Ipswich,
Uses
Recycled water of this quality has a wide range of uses including,:
- landscape irrigation,
- sub-grade moisture correction,
- dust suppression
- limited industrial and agricultural applications.
Class C
A secondary treatment process combined with minor pathogen reduction is used to produce water of this quality.
Availability
Class C water is currently available in Lockyer Valley, Somerset and Scenic Rim
Uses
Recycled water of this quality has a wide range of uses including,:
- landscape irrigation,
- civil works,
- sub-grade moisture correction,
- dust suppression,
- limited agricultural and industrial applications.
