Water restrictions

Current water restrictions

The Queensland Water Commission’s Permanent Water Conservation Measures were put into place on 1 December 2009 across all of South East Queensland including regions serviced by Queensland Urban Utilities. Under these measures residents are encouraged to monitor their consumption and continue to use less than 200 litres of water per resident per day.

The QWC website provides detailed information about the water conservation measures for both residents and businesses.

Households using more than 1200 litres of water per day or 300 litres of water per person per day,
for households with five or more residents, will be notified of their high water use.
