To help celebrate the Ekka this year, we’re giving away a family pass!
From showbags to sundaes, woodchop to woolly sheep, it’s time to get excited for your favourite Ekka traditions. 
Tell us your favourite thing to do at the Ekka in the comments of our competition social media posts, to go into the draw to win a family pass to the Royal Queensland Show – the Ekka – which is held August 10-18 from 9am to 9pm at RNA Showgrounds in Brisbane.
This family pass is for whoever your Ekka family is! Win and you’ll receive tickets to the Ekka, granting event access for any four people for any day of the show.
The Competition commences at 5 PM (AEST) on Friday 2 August 2024 and closes at 5 PM on Wednesday 7 August 2024. 
Eligible Entries will be identified on Thursday 8 August with the winners selected by random draw at the Queensland Urban Utilities head office at Level 10, 31 Duncan Street, Fortitude Valley, Queensland, 4006. The winner will be contacted on Thursday 8 August by Facebook or Instagram message, based on which social media platform the entry was submitted.
Eligible Entrants may submit multiple entries, provided the conditions of entry are satisfied each time. If multiple entries are made, please submit another favourite thing you’re looking forward to doing at the Ekka.

General
  1. The Ekka competition (the Competition) is being conducted by Central SEQ Distributor-Retailer Authority Trading as Queensland Urban Utilities ABN 86 673 835 011 (Queensland Urban Utilities) Level 10, 31 Duncan Street, Fortitude Valley, Queensland, 4006.
  2. The Competition and these Terms and Conditions (the Terms) will be governed by the laws Queensland. 
  3. The Competition commences at 5 PM (AEST) on Friday 2 August 2024 and closes at 5 PM on Wednesday 7 August 2024. 
Entry
  1. Entry to the Competition is free. Entrants will be responsible for all costs associated with entering the Competition. 
  2. Entry into the Competition is taken to be acceptance of these Terms.
  3. Entry to the Competition is open to eligible customers residing in Brisbane, Ipswich, Scenic Rim, Somerset & Lockyer Valley. 
Who may enter
  1. Queensland Urban Utilities employees and their immediate family are ineligible to enter the Competition. 
  2. To be eligible to enter the Competition, the entrant must share their favourite thing to do at the Ekka by leaving a comment on our competition social media posts, on either our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/QueenslandUrbanUtilities/ or Instagram page: https://www.instagram.com/urbanutilities/ 
  3. The entrant must be: 
    1. over the age of 18 years; or 
    2. if under the age of 18 years have parent or guardian consent to enter the Competition; 
  4. (Eligible Entrant). 
    1. An eligible customer residing in Brisbane, Ipswich, Scenic Rim, Somerset & Lockyer Valley.
How to enter
  1. To enter the Competition the Eligible Entrant must share their favourite thing to do at the Ekka by leaving a comment on our competition social media posts, on either our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/QueenslandUrbanUtilities/ or Instagram page: https://www.instagram.com/urbanutilities/ (Eligible Entry).  
  2. Only entries submitted on our Facebook page and Instagram page will be considered (https://www.facebook.com/QueenslandUrbanUtilities/ and https://www.instagram.com/urbanutilities/) and which are appropriate comments on posts related to the competition will be accepted, and the entrant must follow at least one of these social media accounts. 
  3. Eligible Entrants may submit multiple entries, provided the conditions of entry are satisfied each time an entry is submitted. If multiple entries are made, a different a favourite thing to do at the Ekka must be submitted for each entry.
  4. Queensland Urban Utilities reserves the right to invalidate any Eligible Entrant submitting an entry which contains objectionable content including but not limited to content that is illegal, fraudulent, racist, discriminatory, misleading or deceptive, defamatory, obscene or offensive, inappropriate for people under the age of 18, off-topic, or negatively impact on the Queensland Urban Utilities brand.
Prize Draw
  1. All Eligible Entrants with an Eligible Entry who comply with these Terms will be eligible to win the Prize. 
  2. There will be one overall Prize Winner for entering this Ekka competition. The Eligible Entrant must share their favourite thing to do at the Ekka by leaving a comment on our competition social media posts, on either our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/QueenslandUrbanUtilities/ or Instagram page: https://www.instagram.com/urbanutilities/, to go into the draw to win one family pass to the Royal Queensland Show, the Ekka. 
  3. The Prize will be four tickets to the Ekka, granting event access for any four people to the value of $159.60 (the Prize) for any day of the Royal Queensland Show - the Ekka – which is held August 10-18 from 9am to 9pm at RNA Showgrounds in Brisbane.
  4. The Prize is not transferrable, refundable or redeemable for cash. 
  5. Eligible Entries will be identified on Thursday 8 August 2024 with the winners selected by random draw at the Queensland Urban Utilities head office at Level 10, 31 Duncan Street, Fortitude Valley, Queensland, 4006.
  6. Queensland Urban Utilities’ decision on all matters in relation to the Competition is final and binding. 
  7. The winner will be contacted within 1 day of the Competition ending by Facebook or Instagram message, based on which social media platform the entry was submitted. 
  8. If the Prize winner cannot be contacted or does not claim the Prize 24 hours after the notification, Queensland Urban Utilities reserves the right to withdraw the Prize from the winner and select a replacement winner.
  9. Entry into the Competition is taken to be consent from the Eligible Entrant to receive communications from Queensland Urban Utilities. 
  10. Queensland Urban Utilities will make available the name of the Competition winner on its website and social media accounts. 
Intellectual Property
  1. The Eligible Entrant warrants that they own all intellectual property rights in the story that is uploaded to Facebook or Instagram. 
  2. The Eligible Entrant agrees that Queensland Urban Utilities may use and/or publish any material submitted as part of their entry for Queensland Urban Utilities’ business purposes, and agrees to the material being shared on Queensland Urban Utilities’ website and social media accounts.  
  3. All Eligible Entries to the Competition become and remain the property (including intellectual property) of Queensland Urban Utilities.
No liability
  1. Queensland Urban Utilities accepts no responsibility for entries not received by the closing date for any reason whatsoever.
  2. The Prize winner will be responsible for all costs associating with collecting and using their Prize.  
  3. The Competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by or associated with Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and entrants in the Competition release Meta (Facebook and Instagram) from all liability arising from the Competition. 
  4. Queensland Urban Utilities will deal with any personal information received from the entrant for the purposes of entering the Competition in accordance with Queensland Urban Utilities’ Information Privacy Policy and the Information Privacy Act 2009 (Qld). 
  5. Queensland Urban Utilities reserves the right to cancel the Competition if circumstances arise outside its control.
  6. Queensland Urban Utilities has the right at any time to change or modify these Terms.
